notated music 1650-1750 monographic 4 parts 27,5 x 20 cm The manuscript consists of four partbooks in cardboard covered with brown leather with tooled ornamentation. On the covers, one will see an oval emblem of Holy Mary in a crown with baby Jesus in one hand and a lilly in the other. The books bear following inscriptions: Cantus (containing 81 leaves), Altus (72 leaves), Tenor (81 leaves), Bassus (79 leaves). Individual part-books contain different numbers of sheets. The original numbering is made with ink, whereas the later numbering to made with pencil. The ms. contains 94 works a cappella (25 of which are incomplete, because each of the books lacks some leaves) by 16th-18th century Polish, 16th-17th century Italian and French composers. Six minor pieces are copied in another hand. In the years 1919-1982 this set was stored in the State Archives of the City and Province of Cracow, where they received the signatures: D 32-35.
